Victory sees the Rams keep hold of fourth spot in the Kingstone Press Championship, above Featherstone Rovers on points difference, but Morrison was far from happy with his side’s display.

Speaking immediately after the win, Morrison said: “I don’t think the players deserve much credit to be honest. It was disgusting.

“It could be a hangover from playing three games in a week last week but that performance was not up to scratch,

“It was the first time I’ve been involved in a team when the home fans have booed them off the field and rightly so. The home fans pay good money and deserve better than what we showed.

“We knew Doncaster were going to come hard at us but they ran harder and tackled harder than us and wanted it more but we were able to get the two points.”

Dale Morton scored a crucial second half try which edged the Rams ahead and Morrison praised his winger’s efforts.

He added: “We were calling for him to get the ball all game as there was lot of space and that was virtually the only time they gave it to him and he scored.

“We are in the top four but we need to turn up better than that.

“We got the two points, which is in the book and they can’t take that out and at the end of the season people don’t look at how you got those points just that they are on the board but hopefully we can put that game to bed, kick on and play like we know we are capable of.

“We needed the win, like we do next week, but we need to play better than that.”

Morrison also praised the efforts of debutant Nathan Conroy, who came on after Matty Wildie was forced off with a head injury after just 10 minutes and produced an impressive display having joined on loan from Bradford Bulls.
