Morrison watched Workington slip to a 30-6 defeat at Batley Bulldogs in their opening game last Sunday but admits that result will count for nothing for this week’s clash at Derwent Park.

Morrison said: “I expect Workington to be a lot better this weekend and I won’t be reading too much into the Batley game.

“It is always tough going up there and they have some experienced players coming in, including a couple they’ve got from Australia and we are not sure which of the Wigan players they will have available.

“Workington are a well drilled side and I expect them to be challenging for the top six, despite them not being at their best against Batley.

Dewsbury are funding two supporters coaches to ferry fans to Workington free of charge on Sunday and Morrison is hoping the Rams can give them plenty to cheer, as they did in last Friday’s 19-10 victory over Sheffield Eagles.

Morrison added: “The club has done everything to ensure the fans can travel to support the team and it’s now up to us to do our job.

“Last weekend means nothing if we don’t play with the same intensity and get the points.

“It is a really good club and Mark (Sawyer) knows his stuff and everyone is working hard on and off the field to improve.

“We have done that for the last two years and want to continue the improvement.

“Everyone turns up to training with a smile on their face and we want to keep the momentum going.
