Morrison determined to continue play-off journey

Morrison was delighted with last week’s 30-28 victory over Doncaster and stated: “We don’t want this journey to end.”

Dewsbury are involved in the Kingstone Press Championship play-offs for the first time in 13 years and Morrison believes his side have great momentum going into Sunday’s clash with the Eagles, which kicks off at 6.30pm.

He said: “We spoke that now we have reached the play-offs we are not just there to make up the numbers and want to go as far as we can.

“We know Sheffield will be a tough game. We have played them four times already and certainly owe them one and if we play for the full 80 minutes we can be a match for anyone.”

Dewsbury suffered injuries to Makali Aizue and Karl Pryce at Doncaster but both could declare themselves fit to continue their play-off journey at Sheffield.

Tom Lillycrop and James Craven return from suspension, so the Rams could have a couple of extra players to pick from.

Morrison added: “I’m so proud of the players. They are a tight-knit bunch and when the chips are down they have come together and they have worked really hard over the last few weeks.

“We have been playing play-off footy for the last five weeks to reach the finals and we don’t want it to finish there.”

“The crowd have really got behind us in the last few weeks. They went to Leigh in good numbers and were there again last week.

“I love their songs and when they get behind us and it would be great to take plenty to Sheffield on Sunday.”

Admission on Sunday is £15 adults, £10 over-60s and £5 for under-16s and students.
