Dewsbury will start as massive underdogs when they travel to Leigh Centurions for Sunday’s play-off semi-final (ko 3pm) but Morrison admits his side have momentum going into the clash.

Dewsbury will be aiming to reach the Championship Grand Final for the first time since 2000, when ironically, they beat Leigh 13-12 at Bury’s Gigg Lane.

Morrison admits the bond between the team and supporters is something special and could prove key on Sunday.

The Australian said: “The relationship between the club, the players and the fans is very strong and it’s something we’ve tried to build over the last two years.

“I wanted a group of players who want to put their bodies on the line for each other, for the club and for the fans.

“Sunday is another opportunity for us to showcase what we’re about as a club and we all have a role to play in that.

“The players want to put a good show on, the club have done their bit and I hope the fans can do their bit too.

“The fans all stood together (at Halifax) and made plenty of noise. The players enjoyed it and when they scored tries down at that end they made an effort to make the crowd a part of the celebrations.

“We’ve filled three buses (for Sunday) and I hope all of those fans coming along will sit together, wear red, amber and black, cheer loud and be our 18th man.”

The Rams have conceded just six points in their two play-off games, while running in 75, including the superb 25-0 success at fancied Halifax.

The Rams are boosted with powerful prop Makali Aizue available having served his one-match ban against Fax.
