Hepworth pens new deal to stay at Rams

Ryan Hepworth has penned a new one-year deal to remain at Dewsbury Rams.

The club made the announcement at noon today (Thursday) as coach Glenn Morrison continues to put together a strong looking squad for the 2015 campaign.

The news comes hot on the heels of Dewsbury capturing hooker or half-back Matty Wildie, who will join the Rams from Wakefield Trinity Wildcats at the end of the current season.

Hepworth joined the Rams in 2011 having had seven seasons at Sheffield Eagles and has made 53 appearances for the cluband is set to spend a fourth campaign at Tetley’s Stadium next year.

Coach Glenn Morrison has paid tribute the the forward, saying: “Heppy has been a real leader for us over the last two years, and he’s really stood up to be counted when his fellow forwards have been injured.

“He’s been ‘Mr Consistent’ for two years now and both Heppy and ourselves are very happy that he’ll be here for another year.

“It’s important that we have the majority of our pack together in 2014, and Heppy is a big part of it.”
