That is the view of Dewsbury chief Lee Greenwood as the Rams prepare for a clash against last season’s Challenge Cup semi-finalists.

Both squads had their respective fixtures cancelled due to adverse weather last weekend and Greenwood feels that ‘Fax will be challenging for a play-off place this season.

They kicked off their Betfred Championship campaign with an 18-17 win over Sheffield Eagles, while the Rams were beaten by Leigh Centurions in their first outing two weeks ago.

Halifax are predominantly one of the top-end teams in this division,” said Greenwood.

“They had a bad season last year which culminated in a change of coach. They had a good cup run but league-wise they were disappointing overall.

“They have some good players and they have recruited quite well and they will be wanting to push toward the top end and into the play-offs this year.

“And they should be really with the quality they have got there.

“They beat Sheffield at home and they will certainly expect to beat us this week.”

There are no fresh injury concerns for the Rams to contend with ahead of Sunday’s clash.
