Featherstone signRams prop Crossley

DEWSBURY Rams prop Steve Crossley is joining Featherstone Rovers on a two-year contract.

Crossley (pictured) is the latest Dewsbury player to switch to Bigfellas Stadium following Featherstone’s capture of James Lockwood, Anthony England, Liam Finn and Andy Bostock in recent seasons.

Bradford-born Crossley has been outstanding form for the Rams this year. The former Clayton RLFC forward joined Dewsbury from Bradford Bulls.

Crossley said: “After meeting Rovers coach Daryl Powell and looking around the facilities at Featherstone Rovers I am sure I have made the right decision. Featherstone Rovers are an ambitious club and have the right foundations in terms of the playing side and off the field too. They have been the most consistent side in the Championship for the last three years and I am looking forward to testing myself in a winning side.

“I’ve had some great feedback on the club from the likes of Kyle Briggs, Anthony England and James Lockwood and can’t wait to get started. There has been some interest from Super League but I feel Featherstone Rovers is the right club for me.”

Rovers boss Powell said: “We are delighted to sign Steve who is a great addition to our pack for the next two seasons. He is big, tough and will thrive alongside our current front rowers. He has been a quality player in the Championship this season and proved himself as a high standard player for the now and in the future.”
