Championship club chairmen to meet at Batley

Among the items on agenda will be the structure at Championship level.

There remains a deal of confusion as to what will happen at Championship level once Super League is re-structured from 2015.

Bulldogs coach John Kear believes there should be scope to play the Northern Rail Cup competition.

Kear said: “The cash cow remains the Challenge Cup but the Northern Rail gives clubs at Championship level the opportunity to reach a final.

“I would like to think we have attracted some new fans on the back of last year’s Grand Final and the success of the World Cup will also bring in more supporters.”
