Welcome to our live coverage of the Betfred Championship clash between Batley Bulldogs and Wembley-bound Sheffield Eagles.

We will bring you all the major updates from The Fox’s Biscuits Stadium as Batley look to secure back-to-back league victories for the first time this season against a Sheffield outfit who are preparing for a trip to Wembley in the 1895 Cup final against Wakefield Trinity next Saturday. We will also have a match report and reaction from Batley head coach Mark Moxon.

Championship: Batley Bulldogs v Sheffield Eagles LIVE

The Eagles are out, closely followed by the Bulldogs. Mount Pleasant is pleasantly smothered in luxurious sunshine. Kick off is moments away.

There was no chance of a repeat of last year for the Bulldogs after the Eagles beat them in the 1895 Cup quarter finals. But it is all about the Championship today. It’s 12th vs 2nd. Who will come out on top?

Luke Hooley, who starts again for the Bulldogs today on dual reg terms from Castleford Tigers, missed the difficult kick from the touchline following Elliot Kear’s thrilling after-the-hooter try which would have taken that game to golden point extra time.

Of course, the Bulldogs had their day in the sun at the national stadium last August but fell agonisingly short as Halifax Panthers held on to win 12-10 and lift the 1895 Cup. Unbeaten Wakefield Trinity stand in Sheffield’s way next week.

The Bulldogs are searching for consecutive league victories for the first time this season. Can they do it against a soaring Eagles side who have only lost twice and are on their way to Wembley in the 1895 Cup final next weekend?

And this is how the Eagles line up for this afternoon’s game:

Marsh, Jones-Bishop, Liu, Glover, Dawson-Jones, Hansen, Thackeray, Battye, Halafihi, Dickinson, Bower, J Farrell, Hodgson

Interchanges: Clark, Murphy, Wood, Sene-Lefao

Mark Moxon makes three changes from the side which dramatically beat Bradford Bulls 21-20 last Sunday thanks to a late Josh Woods drop-goal. Dale Morton returns to the wing with Kieran Buchanan moving to centre in place of Johnny Mitsias. Muizz Mustapha and George Hill replace fellow Castleford Tigers dual reg players Nixon Putt and Samy Kibula. Former Batley star Luke Hooley, also on dual reg terms from Cas, remains at full-back.

This is how Batley line-up today:

Hooley, Morton, Senior, Buchanan, J Burton, White, Woods, Gledhill, Moore, Cooper, Manning, Walshaw, Mustapha

Interchanges: Leak, Flynn, Ward, Hill

Good afternoon and welcome to an absolutely glorious day at the Fox’s Biscuits Stadium as Batley Bulldogs prepare to entertain Sheffield Eagles. Kick off is around 30 minutes away at 3pm. Team news is on the way.
