part of the 20_20 Foundation, a new initiative aimed to getting the local community involved in various fitness activities.

Batley Bulldogs centre Maun and Dewsbury Celtic half-back Thomas have already held a couple of sessions at Ravensthorpe Community Centre on Tuesday evenings from 5.30pm and are encouraging more people to attend.

Maun said: “Starr Zaman came up with the idea of the Foundation and approached me an Danny to get involved.

People don’t always want to go to a gym but we want to get the message out that we are here and open to everyone of all ages.

“We would like to roll the scheme out across Ravensthorpe, Dewsbury West and Batley.”

The the Foundation has received funding, so sessions cost just £1 to make it affordable for everybody and the pair stress that it’s not all about rugby.

Maun added: “We are open to suggestions for what different sports people would like to try we just want to bring communities together and get people involved, while having some fun along the way.

“We will look at buying some new equipment depending on what activities people want to try.”

Thomas is currently playing rugby union for Bradford Salem but will return to Dewsbury Celtic for the summer season.

He is also involved with Herbal Life products and will be on hand to offer free advice on healthy lifestyles and diets.

Thomas added: “Starr Zaman has done a lot of work in Leeds and he wants to get kids involved and bring communities together.

“He wants to get a similar thing going here but something that is open to both kids and adults and our classes are for any age and any groups.”

Maun, who is on the verge of making a comeback from a knee operation, and Thomas also have plans to introduce fun strongmen events, which would be open to individuals, or sporting organisations to compete against each other.

Thomas added: “Anyone who knows me and Danny will realise that we like having a laugh and we want these sessions to be fun.”

If the sessions prove a success Thomas and Maun are planning to introduce children’s summer camps during the school holidays.

The sessions are currently running each Tuesday from 5.30pm and further information is available by following @Foundation20_20 on Twitter.
