Regan edges out Mordue in cracking winter bowls qualifying contest at Spen

Mark Regan edged out Chris Mordue 21-20 in a cracking qualifier for the Spen Victoria Winter Bowls competition last Saturday.

Regan defeated Josh Mordue 21-8 in the quarter-finals and Paul Ingleby 21-13 in the semis before edging out Chris Mordue by the narrowest of margins to book his place in the finals, which are on February 25.

Chris Mordue had beaten Grez Smith 21-8 and Danny Sillitoe 21-7 to reach the qualifying round.

The third round of qualifiers takes place this Saturday, with a full compliment of 32 bowlers set to take part.

Anyone unable to play in this Saturday’s qualifier is asked to inform competition organiser David Arnold on 07805-9696468 with the draw to be made today (Thursday).
