Moor were well supported in the match at Crow Nest Park, which produced some fierce tackling by both sides.

Patrick Diskin made a long run to put Moor on attack and after Joe Longstaffe and captain John Bownass drove towards the posts, Jacob Crosswell dummied his way over. Aiden Ineson converted.

Moor knocked on from the kick off and Farnley pounced to score.

Ineson and half-back partner Luke Hooley created openings, while Liam Conway and winger Aiden Sheard were held up over the line as Moor led 6-4 at half-time.

Cameron Adleigh produced a superb defence splitting pass which sent Declan Sheehan racing through and the centre showed terrific pace to beat the full-back and score wide out.

Farnley again responded with a second unconverted try but Moor hit back immediately with hard running from Caden Wilkinson, Ben Kershaw and Hamza Riaz taking them upfield before Hooley, Ineson and Adleigh combined to send Sheehan on a 40-metre run to the line putting Moor 14-8 ahead.

Ineson produced a neat piece of skill and planted the ball over the line and Hooley’s conversion gave Moor breathing space.

Substitutes James Rhodes and Connor Gavaghan provided fresh legs and produced try saving tackles as Farnley looked to hit back.

Liam Conway, Sheard and Longstaffe also produced last ditch tackles but eventually Farnley’s pressure told with a late converted try.

Moor had done enough to clinch victory and the Championship crown, which was a fitting end for several of their team who have signed professional terms.

This is the latest success from a Moor club who have produced countless players to sign professional forms.
