Pack Horse close in on Rangers

FC PACK Horse moved within three points of HW League Division Two leaders Dewsbury Rangers with a 2-1 win at Rising Sun last Sunday.

Derek Lau and Scott Newby struck for Pack Horse, with Steven Alderson replying for Rising Sun.

Hightown were fourth going into the midweek games and still harbour hopes of promotion after drawing 3-3 with Gomersal. Phil Jones, Dean Commins and Dave Mortimer netted for Hightown who are a point outside the promotion places, but with a game in hand over third place FC Woodman. Kieran Armitage (two) and Craig Field earned a point for Gomersal.

Ahmed Seedat (two) and Ahmed Bodiyat scored in Taylor’s 3-2 win over relegated Marsh (Charlie Frear and Matthew Brackenbury).

None of the top sides in Division Three were in action, so Heckmondwike Sports Club kept up their outside chance of promotion with a 7-0 demolition of West End Rangers. Richard Cope led the way with four goals, with Scott Milloy, Adam Holt and Craig White also on target.

Jake Gibson hit five in St John Fisher Reserves’ 10-0 win over Batley Celtics. Andrew Hirst, Jason Todd, Andrew Riordan, Lee Battye and an own goal completed the tally.

Liam Storey fired a hat-trick as Northorpe United won 3-2 against Queens Hotel, who replied through a Ryan Burton double.
