Wakefield Trinity to face Dewsbury Rams in pre-season friendly

The Rams kick off their 2021 season with a Challenge Cup clash against Whitehaven on March 21 while Trinity will face Leeds Rhinos on March 26 in round one of Super League.

The friendly between the Yorkshire sides will be the Rams' first taste of action since a 38-30 defeat to Newcastle Thunder in the Challenge Cup on March 15, 2020.

The fixture is likely to be Wakefield's only outing before they kick off their Super League season, with Chris Chester happy to plan for just one friendly fixture before his side's return to action.

Dewsbury head coach Lee Greenwood hopes to play another pre-season match, with clubs allowed a maximum of two, before travelling to Whitehaven next month.
