Sonny Esslemont recently left the club due to work commitments and Greenwood is eyeing a replacement for the player.

However, the Rams head coach has been impressed with what he has seen from some of the club’s new signings following the squad’s return to training.

Some trialists are also in training with the club and although he is on the lookout for another player, a replacement could come from within.

“I wouldn’t say it [recruitment] is complete,” said Greenwood.

“We have got 26 permanent signings now. Out of that 26 you are probably looking at 14 or 15 who are proven Championship players.

“We have done really well to get Reiss Butterworth in with Dom Speakman leaving. Sonny has left due to a promotion at work and we will look to replace him. These replacements could come from within the squad.

“We are back in training and some new signings have shown up pretty well and we have got some trialists training with us as well. We are on the lookout and there are funds available.”

He added: “We are in a good position and we didn’t have to do a big revamp like other clubs.

“We feel by the time the season kicks off we will be a lot stronger.”
