The 20-year-old is under contract at Post Office Road until the end of the campaign after signing a contract extension last year.

Beckett spent the opening weeks of the cancelled 2020 campaign on loan at Oldham.

Dewsbury head coach Lee Greenwood feels the forward “ticks a lot of boxes” for the Rams, who travel to Widnes Vikings for their second league game of 2021 on Saturday.

“I’ve followed Jimmy’s progress for a couple of seasons now,” Greenwood told dewsburyrams.co.uk

“He did well in a couple of loan spells at Oldham and is well thought of at Featherstone.

“We have been looking to bring another front-rower in recently and Jimmy ticks a lot of boxes for us.

“He has settled straight into training nicely and will be in contention for the Widnes game.”

Dewsbury’s league fixture at Widnes will kick off at 5.15pm on Saturday evening and will be available to watch on Our League.

Heavy Woollen rivals Batley Bulldogs are also in action on Saturday as they will look to pick up their first win of the campaign against Oldham.

The game kicks off at 12.45pm and will be shown on Our League.
