Ogden leads way as Spen claim Otley team prize
A high quality field of well over 300 runners set off from Otley Rugby club to tackle the tough, hilly 10-mile route on the roads in and around Otley on a humid summer’s evening last Wednesday.
Ogden was first Spen runner home in a time of 58 minutes 35 seconds as he finished fourth overall to claim the first veteran 40 prize.

Hide AdOgden was closely followed by Martin Hall in overall 13th place in a time of 62m 16s to take the first veterans 50 prize.
Spenborough’s scoring team was completed by Neil Barker, who finished 22nd in a time of 63m 42s to ensure they also took home the first team prize for the evening.
Other Spen members completing the race were Gerard Skippins, 29th place in 64m 27s, Antony Bradford, 37th place, 65m 24s and Ian Ogden, 61st place in 68m 45s.
n Spen AC held their first beginners running course on Monday, with structured training with qualified coaches and experienced runners.

Hide AdFurther open evenings will be held on Monday July 1, July 8 and July 15.
The sessions start at 7.30pm at the clubhouse next to Princess Mary Playing Fields, Bradford Road, Cleckheaton, with registration for newcomers starting at 6.30pm.
