Oates shines at Trunce race

DEWSBURY Road Runner Kevin Oates finished 14th of the 204 finishers at the second Trunce race at Oxspring, Penistone in a time of 27 minutes 23 seconds.

Keith Long was 38th in 29 mins 57 secs

In an orienteering event at Calverley Woods, Bradford, Michael Wood was 30th of 48 on the green course in 68mins 59secs.

Wood then took part in an event at The White Horse and Hood Hill, near Thirsk, when he was 11th of 24 finishers on the green course and second over 70.

Dewsbury results at the London Marathon were: 420th James Morris 2hrs 47mins 20secs; 1771st John Calvert 3:07:26; 5215th Flora Skidmore 3:33:49; 10030th Liz Smith Calvert 3:56:44; 14031st Heather Mitchell 4:12:32; 14912th Tom Howard 4:16:03. There were 36,670 finishers.
