Nostalgia: Secretary recalls D-Day
In 1984 a headmaster’s secretary at Mirfield High School recalled typing instructions for the D-Day landings as one of the Wrens who played a part in WWII.
Majorie Hirst, of Mirfield, served in the Women’s Royal Navel Service attached to Force G.
She was among a party of Wrens chosen to go aboard HMS Bulolo.
