Nostalgia: Computer boom led to jobs in Mirfield
The boom in computers was bringing in business and more jobs to Mirfield.
AMAR, set up to produce speech synthesisers for micro-computers, was looking to take on an extra 12 workers in May 1984.
Director Richard Green, pictured, said: “We hope to increase production and employ more people.”
