Mount survive scare to progress in Allsop Cup

Mount were given a scare by Horbury Bridge before progressing to the second round of the Huddersfield Central League’s Allsop Cup last Saturday.

Mount were reduced to 54-5 in reply to Horbury’s 128 all out before Ismail Mayet steered them to a five-wicket win, finishing 56 not out.

Yusuf Kayat had earlier claimed 3-10 to help dismiss Horbury, despite A Grogan top scoring with 61 not out.

Mount travel to Nortonthorpe in the Premier Division on Saturday.

Mount B bowed out of the Tinker Cup when they were bowled out for 101 against Silkstone B, who went on to complete a seven-wicket win.

Mount B will be aiming to bounce back on Saturday when they entertain Birchencliffe B, while junior training is on Sunday from 9.30am.
