Mount overcome neighbours Heckmondwike and Carlinghow to triumph in Allsop Cup final

Mount defeated neighbours Heckmondwike and Carlinghow by 16 runs to win the Huddersfield Central League’s Allsop Cup final at Birchencliffe last Sunday.

Victory saw Mount avenge a league defeat by their rivals the previous week and prevented Heckmondwike from completing a league and cup double in the final season before they switch leagues.

Huddersfield Central Premier Section leaders Heckmondwike are just 16 points clear of second placed Mount going into the final seven matches of the season and the two sides were closely matched in last Sunday’s final.
