Thornhill Trojans A maintained their winning start to the Yorkshire Men's League Alliance Division One as they defeated Myton Warriors A 40-10.

Man-of-the-match Scott Green grabbed two tries and there was an impressive performance from Nick Mitchell.

Thornhill built up an 18-6 interval lead through tries from the Mitchell, Declan Kaye, Green and Johnny Mack, while Kaye also kicked a goal.

The Trojans cut loose after the break and the only blip was when a fight broke out and Martyn Holland was shown a red card by the referee.

Before his dismissal Holland had scored a try which Liam Morley converted.

Further tries came from Green, Wayne Wilson and Jason Milner with Morley adding two more goals.

The Trojans A visit East Leeds A on Saturday.

Birstall Victoria warmed up for their opening Division Three game at Scarborough Pirates on Saturday with a 22-20 friendly win away to Crigglestone All Blacks.

Dewsbury Celtic A begin their Division Five campaign away to New Earswick All Blacks A and go into the match buoyed by a 20-14 friendly win over Bramley Buffaloes.

Dewsbury Moor A earned a 20-18 victory over Featherstone Lions in Alliance Division Two and they host Stanningley Academy this Saturday when Shaw Cross A face Underbank Rangers and Batley Boys DMR visit Beverley Academy.
