SHAW Cross Sharks Under-13s ended a two-year losing run with a 30-22 win at Bentley in their first game of the season.

Free-flowing rugby and great defence saw the Sharks lead 22-0 at half-time thanks to tries by Elliott Sheard (two) and Ben Walkinshaw (two) with conversions from Elliott Schofield.

The pack was well led by props Liam Womack backed up by Connor Walker, Jamie Hartley, Jake Powell and Luke Bennett.

Matty Walsh, Matty Conyers, Declan Kilbank, Jack Kidds, Ryan McLean and coaches MoM Charlie Bedford kept Bentley out before Sheard and Walkinshaw completed their hat-tricks.

The team are still seeking players and train at Leeds Road on Mondays and Wednesdays start 6pm.
