Dewsbury Rams supporters group The Amber Ribbon are holding a fundraising evening in aid of the Danny Jones Defibrillator appeal at the club tomorrow (Friday).

Former Great Britain star Garry Schofield is guest speaker and the Golden Boot winner will host a question and answer session, offer his views on the modern game and share some tales from a glittering playing career for club and country.

The event, which starts at 7.30pm, is being held in the newly refurbished Amber Ribbon Bar at The Tetley’s Stadium, Dewsbury, and will also feature live music, buffet food and a memorabilia auction.

Every penny raised will go to the Danny Jones Defibrillator appeal, set by Danny’s wife Lizzie.

The event has been organised by The Amber Ribbon, who have previously made financial donations to support Dewsbury Rams players affected by illness, injury and other personal difficulties.

Amber Ribbon chairman Charlie Coates, said: “Tickets for this event have sold well but there are still some remaining.

“If you’d like to join us then you will be made to feel extremely welcome, regardless of your club allegiances. Tickets will be available on the door priced at just £5.

“We cannot imagine a more worthy cause than this. We are proud to support it and hope Rugby League fans from all clubs will too.”
