Dewsbury Rams are jetting off on a Trans Atlantic trip today in preparation for Saturday’s historic Betfred Championship clash against Canadian high fliers Toronto Wolfpack.

The Rams will spend tomorrow preparing for the game and will return to England on Sunday.

It promises to be a memorable advantage for the players and a splattering of Rams supporters who will make the trip, with the game kicking off at 9.30pm UK time and is being televised live on Premier Sports.

The Rams face a daunting trip to face a side who are five points clear at the top of the Championship with 14 wins from 16 matches, including a 23-12 success at Tetley’s Stadium in April.

Dewsbury lie three points above the relegation zone following last week’s 42-18 defeat at home to Featherstone Rovers.

Rams coach Neil Kelly took positives from the game not least from dual registration forward Jordan Crowther.

Speaking after the game Kelly said: “I thought he had an absolutely immense game for us. He was right in the thick of it; in the middle on a warm day he tackled his heart out. With the ball he was always on hand to play a bit of football and he did some tough stuff as well.”

“I would like him to stay longer, beyond this season, but he’s not our player.”
