Dewsbury Rams coach Glenn Morrison wants his side to build momentum as they bid to secure a Kingstone Press Championship play-off spot.
The Rams have nine league games remaining, starting with tonight’s re-arranged clash at home to lowly Swinton Lions (ko 8pm).
Dewsbury are carrying several knocks and are likely to give some players a much-needed rest, while Rob Spicer remains an injury doubt.
Spicer made an eagerly awaited return from a rib injury in the 24-8 victory over Doncaster a fortnight ago but missed last week’s trip to Leigh Centurions.
Morrison said: “We are looking forward to the run in and we go into (tonight’s) game with positives.
“We are in a good frame of mind and we will look to get the points and then kick on.”
The Rams produced a brave display at Leigh, battling back from 22-10 down to draw level going into the final 10 minutes, only for the Centurions to score twice and maintain their 100 per cent record.
Many Leigh followers stated that Dewsbury are the best side they have seen the Centurions come up against this season, after the Rams also pushed them close at Tetley’s Stadium.
Morrision believes there are positives to take from last week’s display, adding: “We put ourselves in a position to win the game and we should have kicked on but we didn’t deal with the kick off and they scored on the back of that.
“It’s good to hear the positive comments been made but I would rather us have taken points off them.
“We now look forward to a decent run in our last nine games and matches we can win.
The Rams have put several offers in place for fans to attend tonight’s game and Morrison is urging the Dewsbury public to turn up and create a decent atmosphere for a rare game under floodlights.
Morrison added: “I hope the fans turn up in good numbers and take advantage of the discounts and we want to put on a decent performance.”
n The RFL announced yesterday that a full round of Championship matches next season will be played in Blackpool over the May Bank Holiday weekend, similar to Super League’s Magic Weekend.
