Moor bid to tame Wolves

DEWSBURY MOOR start the new season in the Pennine League Championship Division tomorrow with a match against Westgate Wolves at Heckmondwike Road, kick-off 2.30pm.

Moor’s squad has been boosted by the introduction of several players, including former Dewsbury prop Andy Burland, winger William Brook and James McGuire, from Liversedge, who can play on the wing or at centre.

James Delaney has also registered for Moor after a spell playing rugby in Australia.

Following the game the players are holding a fund-raising event, and during the evening they will be trying to find the best Elivs impersonator in the team. The fun starts at 7.30pm and all supporters are welcome.

Thornhill Trojans, who lifted the Division Three title last season, will start life in Division Two tomorrow at home to Wyke, while in Division Six Hanging Heaton begin their campaign with a home game against Moldgreen, who won the Division Seven crown last time.
