DEWSBURY Rams boss Glenn Morrison has completed the signing of St Helens second rower or centre Scott Hale.

Hale, 20, made four top-level appearances for Saints, having been handed his first-team debut in 2011.

The former Haydock Warriors amateur player has picked up Co-operative Championship experience after a dual-registration loan spell with Swinton Lions this year.

Morrison said: “Scott is a big, athletic back rower, who can also play in the centres. He runs great lines down the edges and is adept at creating opportunities for those around him.

“He joins us from a Super League environment, having trained full-time throughout his career, and I am sure we will reap the benefits of that but I also feel there is a little more development in him.

“There were other clubs chasing him and one or two Super League clubs were having a look at him too, so it’s fantastic that we’ve been able to bring him to the to the Rams. He is a great talent.”

Hale becomes the 19th member of Morrison’s exciting, new-look first team squad, and is his ninth new signing following the recruitment of Makali Aizue, Callam Beckett, Jy-mel Coleman, Tommy Gallagher, Ryan Hepworth, Dale Morton, Russ Spiers and Ryan Wright.
