Moor duo snappedup byHalifax

DEWSBURY Moor youth players Louis Holiday and Brad Delaney have become the latest in a long list of players from the Heckmondwike Road club to sign professional terms.

Winger Holiday and scrum-half Delaney have earned three-year contracts with Co-operative Championship club Halifax.

Moor Under-10s won a thriller against East Leeds.

Taylor Franklin and Charlesworth crossed with Crawshaw scoring in the corner and O’Neil converted before Josh Inwood earned coaches MoM with three try saving tackles.

Franklin raced 50 yards for the match winning try, converted by Diskin. Ethan Starkey won parents MoM.

Moor Under-14s lost 8-4 to Dudley Hill. Aiden Sheard’s try saw them level at half-time but Hill won despite the efforts of MoM Danny White.

n Batley Boys are recruiting players for their two open age sides, the ladies team Batley Bullets, along with juniors for Under-8s, 9s, 10s 11s and 12s.

The Under-11s came from 18-0 down to defeat local rivals Birstall Victoria.

Parents player-of-the-match Shane Gaunt scored his first two tries for the club, Max Clark also crossed twice, while Cole Innes scored a try and kicked five out of six goals.

Tom Rhodes sealed victory with a length of the field try.

n Dewsbury Celtic Under-7s edged out Emley Moor by one try. Parents player Felix Ellis scored four tries and Jermaine Marara a hat-trick, with top tackler Joe Wood, Jake Brierley and opposition MoM Joseph Berry also crossing.

Berry, McManus and MoM Simpson scored for Celtic Under-10s against Wibsey, while Thornton raced the full length for one of his two tries in a second game against Sherburn Bears, when MoM McManus (two), Berry and Sturgeon also crossed.

n Oposition MoM Rye Ward scored both tries for Thornhill Under-9s against West Bowling. MoM was Asim Collomosse.

n Coaches MoM Amir Kadir scored a hat-trick for Shaw Cross Tiger Sharks Under-8s against Illingworth when parents MoM Kai Gurevitch, Connor Kaye and opposition MoM Max Sheard also crossed.

Kadir scored two more against East Leeds when there was a first try for coaches MoM Max Snowden and others by Gurevitch and Sheard (two).

n Wyke Under-12s drew 28-28 with visitors Guiseley Rangers in Yorkshire League Division 5 at the weekend.

MoM Ben Proctor added conversion points.

Wyke Under-8s were involved in an entertaining encounter at Odsal Sedbergh that finished in a draw.

Try scorers for the travellers were MoM Dylan Firth, Riley Firth (2), Joseph Finn, Jabriel Karolia, Reece Broadbent, Aidan Law and Callum Drake.
