Mills need two wins to ensure promotion

Mills have taken maximum points from nine of their last 10 matches and a similar return in their final two games will see them step up.

They play their final home game of the season tomorrow when Batley A visit Woodbottom (start noon) before Mills visit relegation threatened Adwalton on the final day.

Hopton maintained their promotion push with maximum points from leaders Scholes last week. Andy Moorhouse’s patient innings guided them to a result which saw them close to within four points.

Wrenthorpe A finish with two home games, against Birstall A tomorrow and Altofts on September 10, while Scholes end with tricky games at Townville A and Birstall A.

Moorlands’ hopes of stepping up to the Premier Division are hanging by a thread after Batley moved six points clear last week.

Leaders Carlton have played a game more than themselves and Batley. Moorlands visit East Ardsley tomorrow, when Carlton sit out of the action, and victory for the Memorial Park side would see them close the gap on the leaders to four points.

Moorlands host Batley on the final day, when Carlton entertain Wakefield Thornes A.

Mirfield Parish Cavaliers go into the final two games safe in the knowledge they will play Premier Division cricket next year.

They face a tough match at third placed New Farnley tomorrow but will fancy their chances the following week as they host relegated Ossett.

Hanging Heaton know they are safe in Bradford League Division One. They are third-bottom but they will be aiming to climb the table as they welcome relegated Gomersal for their final game at Bennett Lane tomorrow (12.30pm).
