Local lads shine in Yorkshire friendly

CLECKHEATON opening bowler Iain Wardlaw has given himself an excellent chance of being selected for Yorkshire’s opening County Championship Division Two game of the season, which begins this Thursday.

The 26-year-old former Hartshead Moor player bowled an impressive spell in Yorkshire’s final pre-season friendly against Durham on Sunday.

Wardlaw trapped Mark Stoneman lbw and then bowled Ben Stokes as he ended with 2-50 from 10 overs.
