Littletown boost bid
Victory leaves the Beck Laners fourth in the table but with at least four games in hand on the three sides above them they were just six points behind leaders Salts going into Wednesday night’s rearranged derby with Overthorpe.
After the sides went into half-time level at 1-1, Littletown scored three goals as Joe Jagger bagged a brace, while Adrian Schofield and Lee McKeown were also on target.
Littletown face a crucial game at home to third placed Ventus Yeadon Celtic in a match switched from Friday to Saturday.
Overthorpe SC remain second-bottom after a 4-0 defeat against Bay Athletic Reserves.
Overthorpe were level on 19 points with Tyersal Reserves and Heckmondwike Town, before Wednesday’s derby, while their Division One Cup semi-final has been switched to Monday May 2 at Beck Lane (6.15pm).
Heckmondwike (Callum Padgett and Irfan Khan) remained in trouble after surrendering a 2-1 half-time lead to lose 3-2 at home to Dudley Hill Rangers on Monday.
If Littletown do win promotion, they could replace Hunsworth in the Premier as they remain bottom of the table following a 5-1 defeat at home to Golcar United.
Luke Barker struck Hunsworth’s consolation and they remain five points behind second-bottom Tingley and a further seven adrift of Hall Green.
Lower Hopton battled out a 3-3 draw at Wibsey last Friday and they remain 10th. Peter Reynolds, Michael Hall and Liam Coughlan were on target. Hopton host Kirkburton on Friday, kick-off noon.
All three local sides in Division Three suffered defeats last Saturday. Hunsworth Reserves (Tom Smith) lost 7-1 at runaway leaders Albion Sports Reserves. Lower Hopton Reserves appeared on course for victory against second-placed Salts Reserves after goals from Shaun Simpson, Ateek Hussain and Andrew Anderson saw them lead 3-1.
However, Salts produced a dramatic second-half fightback to snatch a 4-3 win.
Littletown Reserves suffered a 3-0 loss at Marsden Reserves but bounced back on Monday with a 3-0 win over Hunsworth Reserves thanks to Joe Kensit, Ben Maude and Kyle Laycock.
