Kirklees cancel matches on Council owned pitches

Although the weather forecast shows improvement by the weekend, Council officials have been unable to get out to mark many sports pitches.

If the snow does melt before the weekend, Kirklees felt pitches would be left saturated and league secretaries have been informed of the decision.

However, teams who believe their Council owned pitch is playable are invited to contact Sally via the Council’s ‘Playing Pitches in Kirklees’ Facebook page to discuss the possibility of staging matches.

Kirklees are also advising individual teams to check their changing rooms in case of burst pipes,
