King offer Moor big test – Trojans tackle Warriors

BIG games are coming thick and fast for Dewsbury Moor who, after National and Pennine President’s Cup ties of late, face another in the new Pennine League Championship division tomorrow.

The Moor visit Halifax side King Cross Park (2.30pm) in a change of fixture.

The home side are a point ahead of Moor in the table but have played more games and the Dewsbury side have sufficient matches in hand to make a strong surge up the league.

King Cross will present a good test for the Moor, who almost produced an upset when they were narrowly beaten 20-18 by Premier Division side Siddal A in the President’s Cup last weekend.

Also in the Championship, Ossett Trinity visit second-placed Clayton.

Following their 26-20 success at Oulton Raiders A in midweek, Thornhill Trojans seek to make further progress in the Pennine Third Division when they tackle lowly West Craven Warriors at Overthorpe Park.

The Trojans have been strengthened by the signing of prop Scott Woodcock, who has been released by Hunslet Hawks because he was unable to train regularly due to work commitments.

He and brother Chris made their comebacks for Thornhill last week.

Dewsbury Celtic have no game in Yorkshire League Division Two while in Division Three it’s a similar story for Shaw Cross A.

White Rose are due to visit Heworth A in Division Three.
