Jowitt looks for Rams to end losing run against Halifax

Dewsbury were without a game last week, while Halifax are facing a four-day turn around after beating Barrow in Sunday’s Northern Rail Cup quarter-final.

Despite his side’s recent run, with heavy defeats coming against Halifax, Sheffield, Leigh and Featherstone, Jowitt remains optimistic.

He said: “We’ve been in a tough period, but we’ll come out of the other side of it.

“The players know that when we perform we can compete with anyone.”

Ross Divorty is set to return to Karl Harrison’s Halifax line-up after being rested for the Barrow fixture.

Harrison said: “We were scratchy at times, but we still ran out comfortable winners.

“It was a frustrating game. We got off to a flying start but then for whatever reason we got a little bit loose.

“We’re going OK. We’re nowhere near where we need to be, but we’re certainly going in the right direction.”

On Dewsbury, Harrison added: “I’m sure they’ll want a really good showing against us.

“It’s a tough one. Every single game in the Championship is so competitive that if you’re not at the races, you will get beat.”

Victory for Halifax would extend their lead at the top of the table to four points.
