Jenny has chance to impress Dame Kelly

SPENBOROUGH AC’s Jenny Walsh is one of four new athletes selected by double Olympic champion Dame Kelly Holmes to join her successful ‘On Camp with Kelly’ mentoring initiative, supported by Aviva.

Jenny, who is coached by Deborah Rowlands, has been selected after impressing Kelly with her achievements in recent seasons and her performance at ‘Future Stars with Kelly’ education days.

Jenny impressed Dame Kelly so much with her attitude, on and off the track, that she has been invited to become a full member of the initiative.

The Liversedge athlete also won the Northern junior cross country women’s title and finished third in the English National.

Dame Kelly said: “Having spent time with Jenny I am sure that the mentoring and education support, together with the hard work she puts in with her coach Deborah Rowlands will help her to achieve even more.”

Jenny said: “The support and guidance we receive is phenomenal and it’s a great opportunity to train with like-minded athletes.”
