Hightown close gap on leaders

ONLY three games survived in Heavy Woollen Sunday League Division Two, which allowed second-placed Hightown to take advantage and close the gap on leaders Dewsbury Rangers as they won 4-3 at Liversedge Albion.

Jason Miller (brace), Paul Myers and Dean Commins scored for Hightown, with Mark Wigley, Andy Asquith and Craig Fisher replying for Liversedge.

Hightown are five points behind Rangers with two games in hand.

FC Pack Horse moved up to fifth spot after Liam Roe, Andrew Shingleton, Marcus Newby and Danny Holdsworth netted in a 4-0 win over Rising Sun.

Ravenswharfe moved out of the bottom three after narrowly beating Battyeford Reserves 4-3. Mark Mullins, Josh Walton, Rob Stenhowe and an own goal were on Ravenswharfe’s scoresheet, with Jason Evans, Bobby Evans and Jonathan Turton replying for Battyeford.

St Ignatius saw their game with Marsh postponed.
