Gomersal cricket selected for Yorkshire Under-19s

GOMERSAL cricketer Andy Gorrod is in the Yorkshire Under-19s side who are playing a one-day game against Durham at Hetton Lyons Cricket Club today (Thursday).

Gorrod played all his junior cricket at Gomersal, in the Heavy Woollen District JCL, and he worked his way through the senior ranks before signing for Lightcliffe at the start of this season.

Gorrod is joined in the Yorkshire side by fellow Bradford League players, Yeadon all-rounder Ben Elvidge and Keighley batsman Jonathan Wilkinson.

Yorkshire play Staffordshire in one day game at Rotherham Town next Thursday and they have a two-day match against Middlesex at Undercliffe on August 9-10.

The Under-19s final match of the season is against Lancashire at Todmorden on August 29-30.
