Golf: Heaton junior trio in national final

A TRIO of talented young golfers from Hanging Heaton Golf Club will play at The Belfry, a former Ryder Cup venue, in the 18-hole final of a national junior event.

Last weekend at Hanging Heaton 97 competitors took part in the Shutz Trophy, an 18-hole Medal. It was won by Dave Killvington (10hcp) with a round of 66. He also won the best gross with 76.

The runner-up was Ian Hunter (12hcp) also on 66. Finishing with rounds of 67 were John Newsome (11hcp) and G Watson (18hcp).
