Fraser hits maiden league ton but Cleck take honours

Cleckheaton lost captain John Wood early on but opener Tim Jackson and overseas player Ammer Mahmood shared a superb 142-run second-wicket stand, which proved decisive.

Mahmood fell for 85 but Jackson steered Cleckheaton to a six-wicket win with an excellent 92.

East Bierley are second, a point behind new leaders Manningham Mills, following a 22-run victory over Lightcliffe in a match reduced to 27 overs a side.

Overseas paceman Waqas Maqsood produced a devastating spell of 7-31 as the last six Lightcliffe wickets fell for 12 runs as they went from 131-4 and through a dramatic collapse to 143 all out.

Bierley had earlier made 165-5 as Andrew Rennison hit five sixes and four fours in an innings of 71, while opener Tabbi Bhatti passed 5,000 Bradford League runs with his 34.

Champions Woodlands inflicted a first defeat of the season on previous leaders Pudsey Congs.

Openers Scott Richardson (92) and Sam Frankland (52) produced a superb 143-run stand, which set Woodlands on their way to posting 205-8.

Congs then struggled against the pace of overseas star Sarfraz Ahmed (4-24) and spinner Chris Brice (4-23) as they were bowled out for 115.

Victory saw Woodlands climb to third place.
