Terriers set for exciting start to new season

Huddersfield Town will begin their new Championship season with an enticing trip to relegated Hull City on Saturday, August 8.

The fixtures were announced this morning with Huddersfield’s first home league game the following Saturday against former Terrier Jordan Rhodes’ Blackburn Rovers.

That is followed by a midweek home clash on Tuesday, August 18 against Brighton at 7.45pm before difficult games against London opposition in Fulham and relegated QPR.

The Terriers will have four home games in their opening six matches with a home Capital One Cup tie against Notts County of League Two, taking place on Tuesday, August 11.

Other dates of note include the White Rose double header derby against Leeds United at The John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday, November 7 before travelling to Hillsborough a fortnight later.

Chris Powell’s side host Rotherham in mid-December (Tuesday 15) with the reverse fixtures for Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday and the Millers on Saturday, March 19, Saturday, April 2 and Tuesday, 19 April respectively.

Losing play-off finalists Middlesbrough return on Saturday, November 28 while Simon Grayson returns to Huddersfield with his newly-promoted Preston side on Boxing Day.

Town end their campaign at home to last season’s play-off semi-finalists Brentford on Saturday, May 7.
