City earned their first win in six matches and although Nikola Zigic’s opener was cancelled out by Anthony Gerrard in the first half, the visitors eased to the points.

Kyle Bartley was Birmingham’s hero scoring twice in the second period but was sent off for his over-exuberant celebrations.

It was Lee Clark’s first victory over his former club since he departed from Town in early 2012 but an angry Robins said: “It was more than poor, it was abject.”
