Warnock: United will ‘keep fighting’
The result left United three points off a top six place and with all the sides in play-off contention capable of beating each other it looks like it will go right down to the wire – enough encouragement for Warnock and Leeds to keep going.
He said: “I don’t think we’re good enough to get in the play-offs but we’ll keep fighting.
“I think it’s too soon for us but it won’t be for the lack of trying.”
Warnock was delighted with the response of the players from the midweek humiliation against Forest.
He added: “I asked the players to come off the pitch knowing they could not give any more.
“The other night they could have given a lot more. I asked for a response today and I felt they gave everything.
“It’s important to bounce back from a humiliating result. I didn’t give out any rollockings the other night because I didn’t think it was the time for that, but there were no excuses at Millwall.
“I thought the atmosphere was fabulous. It wasn’t a great game but you were never going to get that here.
“I like Millwall, it’s a fabulous arena for a manager - except we always seem to get cold showers afterwards.”
