Huddersfield Town looking to bounce back at Reading

The Terriers have experienced a nightmare start to the new season with an opening day thrashing at the hands of Bournemouth followed by Saturday’s 3-1 loss at Cardiff.

The departure of Mark Robins has led many to believe the West Yorkshire club will struggle this season but caretaker manager Mark Lillis has called for calm.

“There is a real spirit in the camp. We’ve only played two League games so we’ve not downed tools, although it’s unfortunate we’ve not got any points on the board, which we’d like to change quickly.

“We have to get on with it and pull together as a club.”

Having found themselves bottom of the table after the opening round of fixtures, a trip to promotion hopefuls Reading will prove to be another test of character for Town.

The Royals go in to the game unbeaten in the Championship and have also recorded a convincing 3-1 victory over Newport County in the Capital One Cup.

And with the additions of Anton Ferdinand, Simon Cox and Jamie Mackie in the past week, the two sides are at very different ends of the spectrum.

However, Ferdinand is a doubt after missing the weekend’s victory with illness, whilst Hal Robson-Kanu, Danny Williams, Jem Karacan (all knee), Garath McCleary (back) and Danny Guthrie (calf) are all likely to miss Tuesday night’s clash.

Town’s last visit to Reading in late March this year, finished an a 1-1 draw which will give the travelling fans hope ahead of the clash.
