Clough, who wrapped up the Huddersfield RCD U13 Div 1 title earlier this month, were ruthless in victory, as they racked up a massive score to get their hands on the trophy.

Brandon Thompson, Callum Pearson, Jamie Hanson and Joe Taylor were all on the scoresheet as Clough blew away Div 2 runners-up Skelmanthorpe.

The team have been in sparkling form this season, averaging four goals a game as they waltzed to the league title with a total of 49 points from a possible 60.

They have been even better in the cup, scoring 47 goals over the six rounds and conceding just six, notching wins of 11-1 and 10-1 along the way.

Heavy favourites ahead of the final, Clough showed great professionalism to complete the job and bag themselves another trophy.

Unbeaten in 2013, and on a run of 15 straight victories since December, the boys will go in to next season confident of winning more silverware.

Mark Pinder, Howden Clough manager, said: “It was one of the best performances of the season and a couple of goals that would put the Premiership to shame.

“Retaining league champions and league cup winners - a great double and what a way to end a long season.”

Elsewhere, Howden Clough U15B also got their hands on winners medals as they were crowned U15 Div 3 league champions.

Clough dropped just seven points all season to win the league from second-placed Scholes by four points.

The boys scored 130 goals en route to the league title, finishing with 21 wins, two draws and a solitary defeat from their 24 matches.

Despite being run close by Scholes, Clough finally secured the title on Friday, May 10 with a 4-2 win against Gomersal & Cleckheaton, before finishing the season with a narrow 2-1 victory at Batley Phoenix on Sunday, May 12.
