Gawthorpe on course for four trophy haul

Thornhill Lees suffered a first defeat of the Heavy Woollen Sunday League Premier Division season, going down 2-0 to Towngate thanks to goals from Bradley Riley and Danny Facey.

St John Fisher are second after Lee McKeown (two) and Rob Hiscox sealed a 3-0 win over Birkenshaw, while Battyeford and West End shared the points in a 4-4 draw. Joby Terry (brace), Barry Mitchell and Danny Hickling struck for Battyeford, with Joel Clegg (two), Tom Nixon and Luke Sherman earning a point.

Bottom side FC Pack Horse enjoyed a 2-0 win over Woodman Batley Carr with goals from Marcus Newby and Sam Buswell.

Dewsbury Rangers opened a three point gap at the top of the Championship after Matthew Bugg (brace), Danny Laidlaw and Ben Mitchell scored in a 4-2 win at Taylor (Yusuf Akudi and Haroon Lambat).

Mirfield Town lie third after edging out Carriers Arms 4-3 thanks to Adam Brown(two), Oliver Rounding and Tom Wilks.

Gomersal and Oakwell Motel shared the spoils after a 12-goal thriller.

Barr Street are fourth after goals from Daniel Stuart, Ryan Walton and Dwayne Wilkinson saw them beat Bay Horse East Ardsley (Thomas Lowry) 3-1.

Lee Poskitt fired a hat-trick and Josh Walton a brace as Ravenswharfe hit five without reply against Rising Sun.

Hightown moved off the bottom after Duane Fascione, Dean Comins and James Mortimer netted in a 3-2 win at Birkenshaw Reserves (Tim Smith and Owen Asquith).

White Horse lead Division Two after a 3-3 draw with Black Horse, who scored through Mark Wigley, Matthew Dacre and Richard Burke.

Mount Pleasant lie second after coming from behind to beat Overthorpe Reserves 5-3. Lee Kaye (two) and Elliott Brooke put Overthorpe in control but a hat-trick from Adam Rawat, plus Ismail Loonat (two) saw Mount win. James Reily (brace) and Craig White scored for third placed Heckmondwike Sports, who won 3-0 at Batley Celtics.

Shears Athletic thrashed Snowden 13-0 as Dave Blakeley led the way with four goals, Robert McCall hit a hat-trick, Kieran Bonner and Daniel Stephenson each scored twice, with Wayne Wilson and Ryan Fenton completing the scoring.
