Five alive Abdou Bojang lights up final as Dewsbury United triumph
A sensational five-goal haul by striker Abdou Bojang help Dewsbury United to brush aside EEP United to lift the Wakefield Sunday League’s Premiership Two League Cup.
Credit to the East Leeds based outfit, led by the driving force of captain Karl Ferguson, who fought gamely until the last kick of the final played at the Nostell MW ground, but they came up against a Dewsbury side who produced a good attacking brand of football.
Their superb inter-play and movement produced attractive football to watch and they were able to crush their opponents 9-0.
The Dewsbury side made a positive start as Bojang beat two players before steering his effort narrowly past the far post.

Arista Llewellyn and Mohammed Sadiq linked-up well to find Capi Khan whose effort on target was ruled marginally offside.
A surging run by Lucas Stephens then saw him race clear before seeing his lob over the EEP goalkeeper Aaron Batley bounce off the crossbar.
At the other end, the East Leeds side mustered their first direct threat in the 25th minute when industrious attacking right-back Liam Cawood forced Dewsbury keeper Michael Williams into a good stop.
Dewsbury finally went ahead in the 33rd minute, Stephens’ long throw causing mayhem in the box before Bojang, with his back to goal, swirled in mid air to volley home from close range.

Two further goals in the dying minutes of the half saw United surge into a 3-0 lead with an Oliver Busfield effort deceiving the goalkeeper then Bojang grabbing his second with a composed finish.
A handball in the area six minutes into the second half afforded Bojang the chance to notch his hat-trick and he duly took it.
On the hour, a flowing move from the back to front ended with defender Ben Evans applying the golden touch before Bojang shook off his marker to drive through on goal and find target to make it a commanding 6-0 lead.
Substitute Harvey Fenton got in on the goal scoring and then created a fifth goal for Bojang who found the back of the net despite coming under pressure from recovering defenders.
Jack Burton saw a late effort saved at the second attempt by Dewsbury keeper Michael Williams as the EEP side fought on bravely. But a foul on Bojang saw the resulting spot kick calmly slotted home by substitute Ahmed Patel in the dying minutes.
The man of the match award, sponsored by Pennines Trophies (Heckmondwike), was won by Dewsbury United striker Abdou Bojang. The match balls were sponsored by Lightwaves Leisure Community Centre.
