In this new role, Bennett primarily focus his work on the academy players in the Youth Development and Professional Development Phase.

Frankie Bunn has also moved in to an academy role, this time as senior professional development coach ahead of the 2014/15 season.

Bunn will work with the club’s under-21s development squad, overseeing the under-18s to under-21s age groups in the academy.

New players have also arrived in the form of 17-year-old striker Ronan Coughlan from League of Ireland side Limerick.

Coughlan, who played junior football for Mungret Regional in his native country before joining Limerick, joins the under-18s group within Town’s academy and will work with Tony Carss during the 2014/15 under-18s’ Professional Development League 2 campaign.

The young striker has trained with the club since January while Town awaited FIFA clearance for the move.

Huddersfield Town’s under-18s side were impressively fluent during their first pre-season game in dispatching hosts Brighouse Town 4-1 in June.

The young Terriers have also hosted a side from club partner Kirklees College, beating them 7-1 thanks to brace from striker Ronan Coughlan and further goals from Rekeil Pyke, Jack Boyle, Jack Senior, Adam Porritt and Danny Kane.
