East Bierley lose Priestley Cup final - Woodlands crowned champions

EAST Bierley suffered a five-wicket defeat to Pudsey St Lawrence in the Priestley Cup final at Bradford & Bingley.

Bierley reached 243-7 from their 50 overs, with captain Lee Goddard (68) top scoring.

Lawrence progressed to 197-4 from 39 overs when bad light halted play on Sunday evening and Pudsey required less than an hour to score the 47 runs needed for victory when the match resumed on Monday.

Woodlands clinched a fifth Bradford League Division One title in seven years last Saturday when they defeated relegated Gomersal by eight wickets.
